Nominate an innovative social media campaign that champions a social cause. We’ll award $1,000 to further the work of the winning campaign.
What’s the best use of social media for social change that you’ve seen?
Online action campaigns for social good have become more prevalent, more innovative, and more engaging. Consider the widespread participation of everyday people in campaigns like Rock the Vote, or the recent Invisible Children’s Kony 2012 documentary, which made international headlines and topped 70 million YouTube hits in a single week. Some people thought the video was a huge success, while others critiqued the content and approach of the campaign.
We want to hear about the best social media campaigns out there so we can surface and share out their best practices to the GOOD community. Which uses of social media for social change have truly raised the bar and successfully catalyzed meaningful online and offline action?
We’re inviting individuals, nonprofits, and creative agencies to nominate their top choice. We’re open to any and all online campaigns— videos, mobile apps, Twitter campaigns all welcome! We’ll award $1,000 to the organization connected with the campaign that receives the most votes, and we’ll interview the organizers of the top campaigns and share with the entire community their tips for using online tools to accelerate social change.
Submissions are open between April 25 and May 24 (noon Pacific Time). From May 24 to June 7, we’ll open it up to public voting. Help spread the word about the most effective social media campaigns and help us choose the top campaign that we can all learn from.
